OUCH!! Spider Bite

Updated: May 10

Everyone seems to be excited that the temperature is warming up and Spring is here! With that comes all the extra insects and spiders 😱. #arachnophobia #spiderbites #insectbites

Day 1 - Spider bites

The (Day 1) picture is of my mom's hand after she was bit twice by a spider/ spiders. We are not sure what spider bit her. We know that she was in some repurposing store around the wood door and panels when she got bit. However, the reaction didn't start till later in the evening. Weeping, stinging, swelling, the area of the bit became hot and itching at times.

I would have taken my mom to the emergency room but she refuse. So on to the next best thing. Ice and the Manuka Honey Healing salve I make.

Day 2

After two days of applying to salve the swelling had gone down and the bites are beginning to heal nicely. The wound wasn’t even hot to the touch anymore.

Manuka Honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used as a wound dressing to promote rapid and improved healing. These effects are due to honey's anti-bacterial action, secondary to its high acidity, osmotic effect, anti-oxidant content and hydrogen peroxide content

Day 3

Day 10

Today there is almost no swelling , no pain and minimal itching- Yay👏👏

With our family, the Manuka healing salve is a main staple! It is an all-natural Neosporin that helps your skin to heal. Since we have 2 kids that frequently get minor cuts and scrapes we can say it is kid tested and mother approved. As you can see it even helps bug bites and I've even had great reviews from some customers who applied it to incisions after surgery to assist in the healing process.
